God's Hands

Our baby girl was a sweet surprise to us But we are not exactly rolling in the money these days and there are things babies need to make life go smoothly. I had a list of wants. Friends started saying to me, “Do you need this? I have one you can have” It would be exactly what I needed, without even telling them. It really has been a miracle. I havnt had to buy a thing, (of course I wanted to buy a few cute clothes, and diapers don’t count.) Also we have received so many dinners from good people. We are so grateful. People I don’t even know very well have given us very generous gifts. I really feel like God is taking care of us thru others love and kindness. Being on the receiving end of a kind deed is overwhelming. People are so good and full of love. I think sometimes they are just waiting for a way to show this. Thank you so much.

Owen is loving baby Callie so much he is willing to share his dinosaur toys with her. This is what I saw in her crib today. She is going to have to be a tough one.

1 week old

It has been a party of five now for a week. The first few days home were stressful. I still had high blood pressure and tons of new hormones to deal with. It was a challenge to balance children, chores, husband, pain and exhaustion. But now I feel like we are getting into a better routine. A huge help is that Callie sleeps great at night. (That is the only time it gets quiet around here) She is a very good baby and we are just loving her. Owen loves to look at her and hold her but has a short attention span. Perrie has been home this week with mid-winter break and wants to hold Callie all the time. She will be Callie’s second mommy. Dave is a great helper and I even got to leave him home alone with the 3 kids for awhile. Unfortunately he goes back to work next week. I am feeling pretty good. Every now and then some pain or exhaustion catches up with me, but not too bad. I think we are going to make it!

Baby Callie came to us thursday morning and we have been loving every minute with her. She was born 5 lbs 15 oz, has lots of dark hair like her daddy and loves to eat. Im still trying to get the perfect picture, but this one looks like her.

We love to try out new books at the library. Every once in a while we find one that is a real keeper and have to buy it. I like happy funny stories with a twist. I enjoy these as much as the kids. Some are books I grew up with and some are very new.

Patience is a virtue

It is a funny thing waiting for this baby girl to come. It could be tonight or it could be another week or two. Not many things in life require this kind of patience. I really want her to come when she is good and ready. I am not so anxious as I was a week ago. I am keeping busy and trying to keep active. We took a little hike today as the sky was blue. Hubby and I had went to a play last night. I keep thinking, this is the last time I will hike with only 2 kids or this is the last date I will have in a long time. Maybe this will be my last blog entry pregnant... maybe not.
